Supreme Court challenge sows uncertainty for ObamaCare

The Supreme Court’s decision on Friday to take up another ObamaCare challenge is the latest headache for a healthcare industry that has already struggled for years with complicated legal challenges to the law.
The court’s ruling in King v. Burwell threatens to dismantle a core provision of the healthcare law that provides subsidies for nearly 5 million people. While that decision won’t come until next spring, experts say that waiting period could throw ObamaCare in flux ahead of its second full year of implementation.
“I think it does create a cloud of uncertainty,” Elizabeth Carpenter, director of the healthcare consulting firm Avalere Health, told The Hill. “In some ways, stakeholders and key industry groups were beginning to kind of settle into some of the rhythms of the [Affordable Care Act], and certainly, this adds just another unknown variable.”
The court’s announcement came as a surprise to lawmakers who helped craft the law, many of whom dismissed the GOP-driven legal challenge as a partisan attack.
What do Republicans plan to do for the 10 mollion who have insurance through Obamacare? Do they just become uninsured?
I’d like to get my policy back.
Obama lied and said i could keep it.
10 million more people insured, premiums coming down, and healthcare costs seeing lower rate of growth… what’s to complain about ? The previous system wasn’t working, except for the very rich and public sector workers on subsidized healthcare for life. The ACA isn’t going anywhere.
land of make believe ???
I know you feel the urge to cheer on the Blue Team MSNBC talking points, but the reality of the ACA is quite different. Yes, there are some that have come out on the plus side, but there are a great deal who did not.
its not 10 million more , that number is totally bogus , most people were forced to sign up when they lost their previous insurance , the rest are medicaid , its been a disaster , and by the end if this year even less will have insurance than before obamacare . and worse yet the young are not signing up at all
You must be a union member who is EXEMPT.
My policy was no longer available.
A new policy cost less, and the benefits were LESS.
So its like selling foolish Obama ass-kisser a car.
They don’t want to know ‘how much it costs’.
They want to know “HOW MUCH DO IT COST ME A MONTH” without adding up the extra years its stretched out but ‘IT ONLY COST ME $$$ a month’
Thats how you sell stuff to STUPID MORONS. (obama supporters)
The reality is, lower premiums are worthless if the policy benefits are not there!
So I’ll give you brainless as simple an example as possible so as not to confuse those cobwebs upstairs:
You have a car insurance policy with a $500,000 limit that costs you $1200 per year.
But some dummy can ‘save you at least twenty percent in 20 minutes’ and you now pay $1000 per year…but you’re too dumb to read the policy which now only has a $100,000 limit…
Same applies for the medical policies now available…bronze, silver gold… they’re all shit and you must stay in their networks, and in order to meet his goals of lower premiums… have DRASTICALLY reduced coverage.
Hopefully you won’t need your insurance… but if you do, your stuck in NJ and will be UNABLE to go to a NYC hospital if you have a complex case… so ‘Sloan Kettering’ is out of the question.
Of course nobody gets cancer do they?
