Ridgewood NJ, The adult male driver of a Ford Escape SUV and his female passenger escaped injury during a crash in which their vehicle careened off of Route 17 southbound in Ridgewood and came to rest in a clump of bushes. The incident occurred at approximately 4 PM on Wednesday, 05/18, just south of the NJDOT Park & Ride Facility.
The driver was reportedly reacting to a delayed command from his GPS system when the SUV crashed. The vehicle was able to be driven away on its own power after flatbed tow truck winched it from the bushes. There were minor rubbernecking delays on Route 17 southbound near the accident scene until the vehicle was removed
Turn Right. LOL
call the county and state police, why is it that we are paying ridgewood police to do bergen county and nj state police work. are we billing them, if not we should, they do zip for us.
Good thing no kids were playing baseball there.
so very true, I never see the county or state police doing anything but fly right past car accidents ,what a joke. the local police doing all the work on r t, 17 , when we need them in town, How many time we have a big problem on 17 , and the village has to call in cops on over time to back them up. thats why the police have big over time run overs.that needs to be looked at, SO MUCH FOR THE TIGER TEAM, if they were so much of a team they would see who has the biggest over time budget’s in town , between the fire and police are close to a million ,YES that much. no they go after the poor little guy, why because they are scared.
I think all local police should stay off rt 17, last year we had a cop that got killed on rt 17, we do not need any more of this, stay in the town who is paying u, end of the story. let the county and state worry about the hi way, it,s a state road, it’s not the village problem, I can see to help some one that is hurt, thats it.
The bro’s love all the over time. Right,
lol,
so let me understand here…It’s OK for cops to go out on 17 and bust people for speeding and collecting the revenue but when services are needed by these same drivers it’s not OK to go and help? it that how your going to pay the game?
just stay off rt 17,
true call in the bergen county p d, we all pay county tax for the police, use them.we pay village police to ride the roads in ridgewood, we do not need village p d siting on rt 17, why would they, if the can sit on r t 1 7 , then they have way too many police on the clock.this is why homes get broke into. cruse the west side of town.
