Teaneck NJ, local officials have reported that the fourth-quarter property tax bills are currently missing, and despite this issue, the township is urging residents to ensure their payments are made by the November 1 deadline. Township Manager Dean Kazinci has posted a notice on the township’s Tax Department News webpage, indicating that an unspecified number of tax bills, which were hand-delivered to the Teaneck post office on September 22, have not yet reached the intended recipients. Kazinci expressed his concern over the delay, stating that he has personally contacted the Teaneck postmaster to convey his dissatisfaction and has formally requested an internal investigation to locate the missing mail.

According to Kazinci, the property tax bills were tracked to the South Hackensack sorting facility on the same day they were delivered to the Teaneck post office. However, it remains unclear what has transpired with these bills since that point. Kazinci offered an apology for any inconvenience caused and assured residents that they will persist in seeking answers from the U.S. Postal Service regarding the whereabouts of the missing property tax bills. Importantly, he emphasized that despite the issue, the quarterly payments are still expected to be made by the November 1 deadline.

In response to the situation, Kazinci recommended that residents who have not received their property tax bill visit the township’s webpage for its accounting firm, Edmund & Associates Inc. On this webpage, residents can access and print a copy of their fourth-quarter tax bill. Alternatively, copies can be obtained directly at the township’s Tax Department during regular office hours, providing a convenient solution for those affected by the missing bills.

  1. What, the USPS sucks at delivering mail and packages? This event further proves that this outdated fixture needs to go, yesterday!! 95% is junk mail, the rest can be handled electronically or by UPS/FedEx, etc. This union will be protected by the politicians, unfortunately.

  2. All I can say is they are constantly losing my mail, and I’m always receiving someone else’s mail. It’s amazing. I don’t know exactly what’s going on.
