When you think of the future, what do you think of? We think of right now! Technology is developing as fast as you can imagine, or even faster. Maybe some of the biggest tech innovations are being invented right at this moment.
Lightning speed internet
The need for faster internet is pushing the technology forward every day. Since most of the work nowadays is done online, companies and businesses are requiring very fast responses from their employees and it is researchers’ and engineers’ job to make that possible for them. They are developing the fastest internet ever seen, whose speed they compare to the speed of lightning. If that is achieved, it will increase the efficiency of the workers and improve communication in companies. The engineers believe that 5G will change the world as much as our regular internet changed it a long time ago.
Improve your sleep
Every day we read articles or listen to the people telling us how blue light from the screens affects our brain and damages our sleep. But we rarely hear people tell us about some tech innovations which help us close our eyes and get enough sleep. Technology indeed made a huge impact on everybody’s lives, we are surrounded by it from the moment we wake up to the moment we fall asleep. But why don’t we use its advantages and help us and others fall asleep quicker?
We bet that at least one of your family members snores and that snoring bothers at least one of you. Do you know why snoring occurs? Sleep position, nasal problems or sleep deprivation can all cause snoring problems and, interestingly, about a quarter of the human population frequently snores. And have you heard that the loudest snore ever recorded was measured to be 92dB, that’s a little louder than a revved up food blender?
So here come the advantages of technology! The company named Hupnos designed a snoring mask that detects snoring and encourages the user to change the sleeping position. Some of the companies that also created sleeping gadgets that help you with snoring problems are Philips and Urgonight. Technology knows that snoring isn’t the only sleeping problem in today’s world, a lot of companies created sleeping gadgets that help you with sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, bruxism, shift work sleep disorder, and a lot more.
Swallowable medicine device
Some of the newest medical devices are being developed every day. The team of the researchers has designed a small, swallowable microphone which can detect distinct noises made by the patient’s heartbeat or their breath. They also designed a signal processing system to translate acoustic data into the heart and breathing rates. The device is used in adults, but can even be used in infants and children. The researchers hope that soon the ingestible sensor will be able to recognize heart and breathing disorders such as arrhythmias, emphysema, and asthma. This would also be a powerful tool in recognizing things like cancer or intestinal disorders.
Animal-free meat
It is possible to save billions of animals and improve the environment just by applying this “small” change. Animal-free meat! Start-up companies are trying to create the first lab-grown or “clean” meat that will soon find its place on the consumer’s plate. Last year one company successfully created a cruelty-free ground beef and now has produced lab-grown chicken and duck.
The company recognizes the importance of slaughter-free chicken because approximately 9 billion chickens are killed just for their usage each year. There are also some speculations that meat alternatives will be 3D printed or plant-based, but the interesting fact is that the nutritional values we get from lab-grown meat would be the same as we would get from proper meat.
People are prospering to create things that the human brain wasn’t even able to imagine a couple of decades ago. Technology is rapidly progressing, and we are becoming part of the new world whose advantages we should use as much as we can!
