>It could be somewhat of a career limiting move to say “no thank you” I guess?
It took quite a set of brass balls for a Village Council member to show up at Village Hall and intimidate on-duty employees into giving generously.
The crap never seems to end . . .
>Can someone educate me as to what’s wrong with this? Am I right in thinking that the “wrong” is having a village council member asking village employees for donations, and that the village employees feel intimidated to give because careers and favors are at stake?
>Your line of thinking is correct. Most large companies now have policies in place that prohibit solicitations of this type. Included would be “Walk A Thons,” raffles, Girl Scout Cookies, etc. The Village should adopt such a policy. No one likes to feel pressured to give, especially when someone in power is making the request.
>Whoever it is, GET THEM OUT!!! When will enough be enough? This is the most rediculous ‘governing body’ I have ever encountered. It needs to stop NOW
>why didn’t the shop steward file a grievance?
>THATS BECA– USE THE SHOP STEWARD NEEDS HER JOB.IF I WHEAR HER I WOULD NOT MAKE WAVES MY LITTLE FRINDS LIKE IALL WAYS SAID YOU NEVER MESS WITH THE ROTARY CLUB.UN LESS YOU WOULD LIKE TO JOIN THE GANG.

>feel free to complain about the council. there’s not enough complaining about government in general, if you ask me. the part i don’t understand is your problem with rotary. isn’t it one of the most generous, non-partisan clubs in the world?
