  1. BOE hold the line.

  2. There should be NO NEGOTIATIONS on the healthcare co-pay. If the teachers don’t agree for 15$ co-pay – they should not get a contract.

  3. Tell the teachers to stop bullying us

  4. I support the BOE. Thank you, for holding the line and holding strong. I wish the A holes would take the stupid signs down during the summer. Is there a time limit for signs? Builders and Painters aren’t allowed to have signs? New Awesome Council how do you rule on this? Stop kicking the can and giving into these contracts. Put all the teachers on Obamacare now. Raise their salaries and give them all 401K plans. All this is unsustainable, with the new retired Police Cheif how many are alive that we are paying for that are retired? 3,4, or 5? Wake up Ridgewood and America…Never Hillary

  5. Ridgewood teachers are some of the highest paid in the entire State. We all want raises and better health care from our employers but most of us are just happy to have a job now. In fact if anyone I know behaved the way these protesting teachers have been they would be fired. The teachers don’t seem to understand that things are not great for a lot of people since the recession and recovery has been slow. Those who enjoy the security of tenure, and automatic raises can’t seem to grasp what is going on for so many of us struggling to pay our taxes. Hold the line BOE.Teachers unhappy with their jobs in our school system should look elsewhere. We don’t need malcontents in our classrooms and there are a lot of people who would be very happy to have their jobs..

  6. The truth sometimes hurts…….

  7. How about $25 co-pays, bronze level health plans, defined contribution 403(b) pensions, use it or lose it sick leave, and wage growth linked to North Bergen inflation which is running less than 2%, or the 2% property tax cap, whichever is less? All reasonable given our teachers already have the highest median wages in Bergen County and get better health and pension plan benefits for life, funded by taxpayers who don’t get the same level of benefits in the private sector.

  8. 12:52, it’s even worse than that. The teachers recruit our own kids to fight their proxy war through indoctrination. I read a recent article in the paper about the various ‘Teachers of the Year’ nominated by students. One of Ridgewood’s teachers was complaining how anti-teacher it was in his school instead of being thankful for the nomination. He can always go to another district if he doesn’t like his six-figure 10 month job.

  9. I’m a resident and my property tax bills pay their salary
My health insurance is not as good as their Cadillac plan, and I have a $50 copay for a specialist and $30 copay for primary doc. I am the business owner and pay for the insurance. Why should these Union people who feed at the public trough be insulated from the economic realities the private sector faces .
