The United States of Decline
America unravels at an increasingly dizzying pace.
By Deroy Murdock
America is unraveling at a stunning speed and to a staggering degree. This decline is breathtaking, and the prognosis is dim.
For starters, Obama now rules by decree. Reportedly for the 27th time, he has changed the rules of Obamacare singlehandedly, with neither congressional approval nor even ceremonial resolutions to limit his actions. Obama needs no such frivolities.
“That’s the good thing about being president,” Obama joked on February 10. “I can do whatever I want.” In an especially bitter irony, Obama uttered these despicable words while guiding French president François Hollande through Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson — a key architect of America’s foundation of limited government.
Our president says pot is no worse than alcohol, our congress puts another $2 trillion on the national credit card, our governor throws a tantrum and snarls traffic and our mayor plasters his face and voice all over Ridgewood. We have bipartisan abuse at all levels of government. Hopefully, any further decline will be a rallying call to shrink our bloated system.
…pot is no worse than alcohol… but cigarettes are evil.
The Democrats buy votes when they give away money in the form of welfare, EBT cards, Section 8 housing, Obama-phones and other give-aways.
Why bother to work when you get close to $50,000 a year for doing nothing excepting breathing.
What SHOULD be done, is change the law to require Voters to be contributing members of society (=pay taxes, for 3 out of 5 years to allow for bad luck etc)
If you look at the real world, the only ones who can vote at a shareholders meeting of a corporation are those who paid in and BOUGHT the stock.
We are all ‘shareholders’ in this country if we pay taxes, and as such, should be the ones making policy, not those on the ‘receiving end’ getting handouts.
I’m sure some of you libtards will flame this post, but I could care less.
Maybe if voters, citizens and contributors cared about this country, we could turn it around (instead of rewarding ILLEGAL aliens with 50k per year-and not checking their ID at the voting booth where they do not belong!)
Jefferson was not a key architect of our foundation of limited government. He was in France serving as Secretary of State under the Articles of Confederation. That said, although he ultimately (tepidly) endorsed the proposed Federal Constitution in 1788, he strongly warned against investing the central government with too much power and believed strongly in home rule.
And this just happened in the last few years?
History has shown that every great dynasty one day comes to and end. Our end has begun.
#3, please run for Ridgewood Council. You should win. You happen to be 100% correct. All the losers in this country who are suckling off the teat of our Liberal Government will always vote for their free handouts. NoBama and the like, will always win now because they are the majority. We are going Backward not Forward. I wish we could change this but we do not have the votes to do so. I do not see this changing? The Liberal media is trying to drag down Christie who may have been a threat to Brain dead Hillary. They already have her elected. We are doomed. Locally Valley is part of our local doom. Englewood Hospital just claimed on their expansion that ” outpatient services is expected to increase 80% over the next 10 years”. Does anyone really believe that Valley’s outpatient customers will be at their other locations? Then I have a bridge to sell you. You can’t reverse the problem once approved. It been said before but the H-Zone should not be changed. This was put in place to protect us from this situation. Wake up Ridgewood. Valley has the Slickest Lawyer to take this town down! Our council can’t stop him and they are scared of him. The Valley lie being told is this will only affect the few around this hospital and will be for the overall good? Biggest lie ever told. It will ruin Ridgewood for ever. Twelve years of Construction is bad enough. The traffic and strain on our services is the real future issue. Wake up before it’s too late
Thanks for the ‘vote’ of confidence, Unfortunately I do not have the time since I work about 80 hours a week. The last time we had a council member willing to ruffle some feathers “Mr. Fitzgerald” he was unable to accomplish anything because he only had one vote.
