Maywood NJ, a three-alarm house fire broke out Friday afternoon at a residence on 37 Terrace in Maywood, prompting a massive emergency response from multiple local fire departments and mutual aid crews.
🔥 How the Fire Started
According to authorities, the blaze is believed to have originated on the back deck of the home before quickly spreading to other areas of the structure. Firefighters hoisted ladders to the roof and worked tirelessly in the sweltering heat to bring the fire under control.
🚒 Multiple Departments Provide Mutual Aid

Maywood Fire Department was assisted by several neighboring towns.

River Edge Volunteer Fire Department responded with Engine 2, initially serving as the FAST (Firefighter Assist and Search Team) before being reassigned to overhaul operations. They later remained in Maywood to provide coverage for any additional calls.

Hackensack Fire Department deployed Deputy 2, Ladder 1, and MSU 1, assisting with both interior and exterior operations in extreme temperatures nearing triple digits.

Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department also provided mutual aid, with Chief 61, 62, and Engine 2 covering the borough before being called directly to the scene to assist.

The County Wide Emergency Response Team supported the operation, bringing water, snacks, and relief for firefighters, EMS, police, and affected residents.
✅ No Injuries Reported (So Far)
As of Saturday morning, no injuries have been reported, but the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Fire officials are working to determine what sparked the flames.
