Three Ridgewood residents to run for two seats on Village Council

THE RIDGEWOOD NEWS
Three candidates have entered this year’s race for Ridgewood Council, which has two vacancies in May’s municipal election.
Residents James Albano, Susan Knudsen and Michael Sedon each filed for candidacy by Monday’s deadline, according to acting Village Manager Heather Mailander, and will vie for a seat on the non-partisan council. Each spot carries a four-year term.
Like lambs to the slaughterhouse….I wish them well but the contentious political climate in Ridgewood will quickly wear them down.
Bernie or Tom? was that you’re #1 comment? I think we all agree.
A huge THANK YOU to Bernie Walsh and Tom Riche our outgoing council members. It is so sad to see you both go now. Especially in light of the new news that Valley is no longer a compromise. It’s all or Nothing. Your 2 votes against this over expansion will be missed. I hope the new council members will feel the same way and save this town.
what are their respective views on the hospital and the apartment projects?
I agree with #1’s post, it’s a shame that it’s so true, that it removes the humor from the post.
Ask Albano if he plans to recuse himself from the Schedler vote.
Knudsen ran for boe several years back and got trounced. Her performance at the candidates night was piss poor.
Mike Sedon is smart, and best of all he is fact-oriented, as he is a reporter. He goes to every council meeting and makes informed comments when appropriate. He has no hidden agenda – not affiliated with the sports groups or the Valley or the anti-Valley. He just seems to want to serve the town in the best possible way. Sounds refreshing to me.
As I understand it, Gail Price instructed the Planning Board that it’s “All or All”. They either accept the 2010 Master Plan Amendment as written or Valley’s revised Master Plan Amendment as it’s written. Looks like she was just out to bill hours to the town. This whole thing just stinks of corruption.
#7 Yours is a helpful comment here … thank you…. Michael Sedon for running, wish you good luck.
#5 why would Albano recuse from a vote on the Schedler prop?
and #7, you left out that he just loves Graydon so very much. We know that’s important to you.
#6 so right. Had the displeasure of meeting her several years ago.She holds a high opinion of herself- to bad no one else does
Lots of people love Graydon. I appreciate that all three of them are willing to put up with all this scrutiny and guessing about their positions just so that they will be allowed to serve the community.
#12 – you are so right. I particularly enjoyed the claim that she was a CEO . . . of what? Really? I’ve known her for years and I’ve never heard that before; odd, considering how much she likes to talk about herself.
so, which one or more of the three is for a) hospital expansion or b) apartment projects?
It did not take long for the haters to start posting. I don’t know why anyone would run for office in this town. The miserable snipers are just waiting for someone to pick on.
#11 – I am #7 and I don’t even belong to Graydon. Not sure who you are mistaking me for? I have a pool in my back yard. My kids go sometimes as guests with friends, but we do not belong.
Well put 16, it’s been that way for decades, but the internet gives the snipers a bigger stage to play on, regardless of political, or subject position. There seems to be one flaw, the negative posters seem to outweigh the positive posters no matter what the subject is, how come it works out that way?
When you put things out there (Valley, CBD,) that insult the intelligence of the majority of people in this town, why would it not work “out that way?”
