Maywood NJ, three-vehicle collision at the intersection of Maywood Avenue and West Central Avenue early Sunday evening, May 11, caused significant damage to multiple vehicles and town infrastructure, though fortunately no serious injuries were reported.
The crash occurred just after 6 p.m., leaving two heavily damaged vehicles, a downed traffic light, damaged street signs, and a toppled fire hydrant in its wake. All damaged vehicles required tow trucks for removal.
Emergency Response and Utility Impact
Maywood Police Department and Maywood Fire Department quickly responded to the scene, along with Maywood Fire/Police and a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance from Hackensack University Medical Center.
A PSE&G Electric Division troubleshooter was also dispatched to assess potential damage to overhead utility lines. Maywood police officers remained on scene while awaiting a traffic signal maintenance technician to repair the downed signal apparatus.
