Ridgewood NJ, a two-vehicle collision on the morning of Tuesday, May 20, at the busy intersection of Chestnut Street and Franklin Avenue, startled passersby as one car ended up on the sidewalk in front of a well-known local sushi restaurant. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

What Happened?
According to authorities, the impact from the collision was strong enough to send one vehicle onto the sidewalk, narrowly missing nearby structures and pedestrians. The second car remained on the street and was later driven away under its own power.
The more severely damaged vehicle required assistance from a tow truck, which safely removed it from the scene.
The only non-vehicular damage reported was to a street sign, which was knocked down during the crash.
Police & Emergency Response
Members of the Ridgewood Police Department, along with Ridgewood Fire Department/EMS, arrived promptly to secure the area, assess the situation, and manage traffic. One traffic summons was issued by a patrol officer in connection with the crash.
The Ridgewood Professional Firefighters FMBA Local 47 were also acknowledged for their quick response.
No Injuries Reported, Investigation Ongoing
Although the crash caused a dramatic scene in a high-foot-traffic area, authorities confirmed that no one was injured and no further hazards were present after the cleanup. Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
