Two Juveniles Pickup In Connection With Rash of Car Break-ins in Hackensack

Hackensack NJ, a rash of break-in thefts from parked vehicles in the Atlantic Street area over the last two weeks in Hackensack has led to the apprehension of two juveniles, one of whom was charged with numerous delinquency offenses, Hackensack police Detective Capt. Michael Antista said Wednesday.

Both juveniles were subsequently released to a parent pending juvenile intake, Antista said.

Hackensack Police canvassed the area and looked through hours of surveillance footage to obtain leads on possible suspects, and on Aug. 12, detectives positively identified the two suspects. Hackensack Officers placed the area of the theft under surveillance , specifically a parking garage on Atlantic Street and an adjacent apartment parking lot.

The Hackensack Police spotted juveniles entering the garage and took them into custody on the aforementioned offenses, of which included criminal mischief.
