  1. >Well, if the data and assumptions printed here are accurate, it would appear 2008 is going to be a very tough year for the Village financially.

Get ready to pay for yardwaste pickup and have your garbage removed only 1 time per week!

  2. >and see all the parks go to sh,.,t real soon.if they lay off some of the workers not a good thing at all on paper it will look good but not when you go out and look what is going on.it mite look good for the first 2,years but after that you no what will happen.rember a few years ago.o,boy hear we go.just look at the inside of schools not good and some of the workers.problems, and look at the buses more sh,.t that goes on you dont even know about.all i can say as tax paying people wake the f,up real fast and say no to privite workers say no to out side hireing.

  3. >2:46 — what’s up with this profanity-complaining? geez man, the sky isn’t falling. take some prozac & chill out.

  4. >The Habernikel property should be returned to being a revenue generating horse stable. I’ll suggest, “The Upper Ridgewood Riding Academy”, as a name. This land usage would provide training and boarding. It would fit in with status of the neighborhood. It would generate revenue. Let’s stop taking assets away from Ridgewood. i.e., water department properties. The water department should use one of the properties to build a water bottling facility to generate revenue, “Ridgewood Water” would sell.

  5. >Permanent fence around Graydon.
    New trucks.
    Parking Garage.

    Stop wasting my money!

  6. >Yes I must agree getting rid of our town employees is not a good idea. These are the people who know, care, and most live in our Village. I dont want to see outside contractors coming into town. They just dont care as much as our guys do. To top it off goodness knows who we will then have lurking through the village. I want to keep our hard working men and cut spending in other places. Places such as high paying useless jobs. Buying properties that we dont need, ie. Hillcrest Farm. Bozo house. We should all rally to keep our town guys and not to cut our services. I understand that with no money services need to be cut but lets start by getting rid of what we dont need.
    Thank you.
    Sincerely
    Concerned North Murray Road resident.

  7. >Is a liquor license really worth $600K?

Didn’t the Village Council put a liquor license up for grabs a few years back and wind up with no serious bidders?

  8. >I TOLD YOU ALL THIS WAS COMEING.THE DAM SCHOOLS ARE COASTING SO MUCH MONEY THAT THEY ARE GOING TO CUT SO MANNY JOBS IN TOWN.WHAT A SHAME.WELL RIDGEWOOD IS GOING TO GO DOWN THE RIVER.WHAT A SHAME.ALL THAT HARD WORK FOR WHAT.NOW WHAT .HOW MANNY WORKERS WILL BE OUT OF A JOB.

  9. >WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO CUT FIRST.THIS IS GOING AROUND TOWN LIKE WILD FIRE.AND WHEN IS THIS GOING TO START.I HOPE THEY GIVE THE WORKERS TIME TO FIND ANOTHER JOB.

  10. >WELL TO ALL IT IS TIME TO DO YOU KNOW WHAT.

  11. >They should get rid of those two parking cops, I hate them…

  12. >Is it a conflict of interest for the village CFO to be also the treasurer of school monies?

  13. >Parking Enforcement brings in money you asshole that wrote 2 above this. If you werent an elitist thinking im from Ridgewood i do what i want and park where i want while drinking your yuppy frappachino,YOU WOULDNT GET A PARKING TICKET!@!$@$VWG W$E%

  14. >thats funny and so right.

  15. >a what happend to chestnut deli, boy it went down hill real fast.i work next door and that place is bad,and did you see who they hire my god they look so dirty a bad move, and the people who own that place dont they work anymore, they just stand around and bs,all day, owell thats way we all go down to the best of everything, and jerrys ,ha,ha,

  16. >all i can say that they have something up sleve.this is all not truethey have the money they just dont wont to pay all you workers anymore.

  17. >all i can say is the town is going to look like dog doo.if they do what they are talking about.

  18. >IAM SO SORY BUT DO WE NEED TO PAY THE FIRE DEPT ALL THIS THAT IS A LOT OF MONEY.WE ARE LOOKING AT 3 TO 4 MILL.COME ON THIS HAS TO STOP.YOU NO I HAVE A GOOD THING TO SAVE MONEY CUT THE FIRE DEPT BACK AND MAKE THE PAID FIRE WORKERS STAY FROM 7AM TO 12.AND AT 12 TO 7 CALL YOUR VOL,S INSOUNDS GOOD,AND CUT THE POLICE BACK TO .

  19. >THIS COUNCIL WONTS TO CUT ALL AROUND.NOT A GOOD THING TO DO THE TOWN NEEDS TO HIRE NOT LAY OFF.THIS IS WHY I MOVED IN TO TOWN YOU DOPES.YES THE TAX IS HIGH BUT IT IS AROUND.AND NOW WE ARE ALL GOING TO PAY.I SAID IT SO MAMYS YEARS A GO THE SCHOLS THE FIRE DEPT AND THE POLICE.THEY WILL HEART THE TOWN IN SO MANNY WAYS AND NOW LOOK AT WHAT IT COAST .YES WE HAVE DAM GOOD POLICE AND FIRE BUT WHAT ABOUT EVERYTHING ELSE JUST LET IT GO.

  20. >Privatize the schools and stop sending boat loads of money to the BOE. Look what they have done with it.

  21. >This is all just to get us ready for the huge increase we are going to get in 2008.

That will solve all their problems.

  22. >Get ride of all the village owned vehicles that are given to village employees to drive home

  23. >why do village administrators get cars ?

  24. >did the council every get any money for the terrible job done on the village hall ?

  25. >I don’t have a problem with the Fire Dept., the Police Dept., the Sanitation Dept., or the Town Workers (landscapers etc). The problem of finances is the gross waste of money on stupidity. The education system (particularly the BOE) is a blood-sucking vampire who will never be satisfied. The fence around Graydon, the oh-so-wonderful (not) job done on city hall and Vets field. Maple Field – there was a large ‘drop-in-the-bucket’ which has now become a second pool everytime it rains. And how about the sidewalk money. Ridgewood was just granted money to add/fix areas that children walk to school. But this money is going to be put to “CORNER IMPROVEMENTS”. In the mean time I had to pay for 10′ of sidewalk to be installed in front of my home. Actually FORCED to pay, since the town decided that the macadam that was there was not appropriate and they installed concrete and then (great big brass ones) billed me for it. Yet there are no sidewalks in about 1/2 of the residential areas. I’d love to know who is actually profitting from these grants and tax increases. Because the people who are there and working hard for us (police/fire/town) aren’t getting it. Call me: Even More Less Than Enamored.

  26. >that is so true the town workers work very hard and well for what they make.and they are the ones are going to get it bad now is that fare.

  27. >the five year forecast, you think this is bad look at the 10 year forecast.very few will be around,so get your self readey for it, dont think you will be working for ridgewood for a long time it is not going to happen, the town is going down, the bottom line is they dont wont to pay for all of your bennys.and thats that.so if you live in town move out fast and dont look back.go move down south.

  28. >does any one know how much of this is true, and how much.and how did this come to be.and how is this going to help or hert the town and the workers.

  29. >The $158K grant money for walking to school was obtained under false pretenses. How can kids walk/bike to school down roadways that do not have sidewalks? If a lawsuit does occur, who is responsible? The Village who told them to follow those routes? Or, The homeowner who had nothing to do with it? If the Village is sued, we, the homeowners, just have to pay anyway. Check the “walk/bike to school routes” to see what a fiasco the Village is walking/biking us all to.

  30. >I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHARE DID ALL THE MONEY WENT,AND STOP TELLING ME THE SAME OLD BS,STORY ABOUT TOWN HALL AND THE FARM ON HILLCREST,THAT PLACE IS A DUMP.SOME ONE SHOULD GO DOWN AND NOT THE WORKERS SHOULD GET LAID OFF .THAT IS NOT RITE.THE PERSON IN CHARGE OFF MONEY SHOULD PAY THE PIPER.

  31. >If selling the water dept will make everything smooth then just do it. I mean be honest when was the last time any of us residents drank tap water?

  32. >Five People Should Have Take home prividges for vehicle. Police Fire Emergency Services OEM Director and someone that is on call for DPW THATS IT!!!!!!

  33. >you are on the ball.thanks.

  34. >no they allwas hert the little guy or girl.

  35. >WOULD SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT IS GOING ON.IS THIS TRUE ABOUT THE LAYOFF.AND WHEN AND WHY,AND HOW COME THIS IS NOT IN THE PAPERS.SO MANNY WORKERS ARE GOING TO GET HERT THAT IS NOT NICE.WHARE DID ALL THE MONEY GO AND DONT TELL ME TOWNHALL AND HILLCREST RD,THEY HAVE THE MONEY SOME PLACE.THEY JUST DONT LIKE TO SPEND IT.ALL BS.I think we must all talk and get ahold of the newspapers.so manny people are talking and this is not helping the town the workers it is such a mess.what a shame.no one is talking what are they going to do just start handing out pink slips.and ypu have 90,days and your gone real nice and then they hire out side workers so they dont have to pay for your benny, sbut no ones taxs are going to go down.dont let them bs you.

  36. >to much bull shit.IAM SICK.

  37. >SOMEONE SHOUD START TALKING VERY SOON.

  38. >O YES I CAN.HUMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

  39. >HOW COME NO ONE IS TALKING.SOME ONE KNOWS SOMETHING.

  40. >It’s never a good idea to lay off public safety workers. Both the PD and FD are union, and the fight would be on as soon as someone got a pink slip. With as much pork as the village’s budget contains, a lawsuit brought by either union would be pretty strong considering where they could make cuts to avoid jeopardizing public safety. It’s time to hold someone at Village Hall accountable for mismanagement of the town funds.

  41. >you are so rite.my pal,no should get a pink slip.

  42. >a five year plan my ass.you are all bs,in,the hole town. doyou think we are dum.come out withit and tell us all what you are trying to do.like most of us will have no job in 1o,years.no more yardwaste.what bull s,.,t.and sant.and water.and parks.you are making a bad move.

  43. >hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
