Upper Saddle River NJ, in a lawsuit, filed in state Superior Court last Thursday, claims that during the 2022-2023 school year, the son was subjected to ongoing harassment and bullying.
The suit says that in November 2022, the boy told some of his classmates that he wanted to be friends with a popular student. Those classmates then started a rumor that he had a crush on the student, according to the lawsuit.
The suit says the boy did not want to go to school because of the rumor and told his father, who reported the incident to James McCusker, principal at Cavallini Middle School.
The Upper Saddle River father is accusing the school district, the Board of Education and several administrators, of failing to protect his middle school-age son from being harassed.
