Valley Supporter says former The World Trade Center conmplex sat on 16 acres

how about the FACT that its too big for the current space …any thoughts ?

The World Trade Center before the 9/11 attacks had a total of seven buildings, the most notable were the main two towers. Each Tower stood over 1,350 feet (410 m) high, and occupied about one acre (43,560 square feet) of the total 16 acre site. Altogether the entire complex of seven buildings had 11,200,000 square feet (1,040,000 m2) of office space on 16 acres.

Would this amount of construction be appropriate at the Linwood Ave site. No, since the height of those buildings would surely be out of place in Ridgewood. But to say Valley is too big for their site is just your opinion. Land use laws and the rule of law should determine what is appropriate for the site not opinions.

By the way, why do you think I live near Valley ?

If you live in Ridgewood, using the radical view of the Stop Valley group, no matter where you live you will be impacted by the Valley proposal. I actually disagree with this view, but they keep repeating it.

How about the fact that the Village residents will have to pay for the extra police work.

The Village has paid for this work for years, why is this an issue now? Why haven’t you complained about this the minute you learned about it?

How about the fact that Valley pays nothing taxes.

Again, Valley has not paid taxes for years so why is this an issue now? Why haven’t you complained about this the minute you learned about it? And what does this have to do with construction

How about the fact the majority of residents are opposed to the construction!

Please provide proof of your claim the majority of residents are opposed to the construction!

  1. What?????? This is your argument??????? The World Trade Center???????

  2. Desperate.

  3. The city is full of skyscrapers and Ridgewood is full of homes with families. We do not want a skyscraper in Ridgewood.

  4. This is the silliest argument I have ever heard. We are comparing a land use in Manhattan with land use in Ridgewood? A 100 story skyscraper in a commercially dense, urban, Manhattan with a neighborhood hospital in residentia,l suburban, Ridgewood?

I gather the OP also support ALL of the downtown developments? Tell me, OP, what is the appropriate height, in your mind, for the downtown developments? Since 94 feet seems appropriate to you for Valley, do you support 94′ for downtown?

  5. My God. She’s right. Let’s not only build a huge hospital on that site, but let’s build a world financial center sized building where BF is. And we can build a transit center underneath the whole thing to bring in all of the people needing outpatient procedures. Where has this genius been for the past 7 years?
