Ridgewood NJ, more than 100,000 Latin students worldwide take the National Latin Exam and of those, only 1% achieve a perfect score. Sophomores Brian Chun and Patrick Callen, pictured here with Principal Jeff Nyhuis and Latin teachers Amy Mason and Stefanie Gigante, received a perfect score for the Intermediate Latin Reading Comprehension.
Sponsored by the American Classical League and the National Junior Classical League, the National Latin Exam is a multiple-choice 45-minute test offered to students on seven levels: Introduction to Latin, Beginning Latin, Intermediate Latin, Intermediate Latin Reading Comprehension, Advanced Latin Prose, Advanced Latin Poetry, and Advanced Latin Reading Comprehension.

In May, Ridgewood High School Latin students attended the annual state convention of the New Jersey Junior Classical League and returned immensely victorious! The students won a combined 54 awards in a wide variety of contests. Bravo to all of our Latin students on an incredible job well done!
