Waldwick NJ, Veterans Day morning took a rough start for drivers on Route 17 in Waldwick, where multiple motor vehicle collisions caused significant traffic delays for early commuters. These incidents occurred on both the northbound and southbound sides of the highway.
While no injuries were reported in the northbound crashes, a southbound accident resulted in one person being transported to a hospital for treatment. Tow trucks removed at least three vehicles from the roadway near East Prospect Street, clearing the way for traffic to resume. The Waldwick Police Department, Waldwick Fire Department, and an ambulance from The Valley Hospital were on the scene, quickly responding to the crashes and providing aid to those involved.
Shortly after Waldwick authorities cleared these accidents, Ho-Ho-Kus Police responded to a separate collision on Route 17 northbound between Race Track Road and Hollywood Avenue. This accident, though less severe, did result in a minor injury.
The Veterans Day delays serve as a reminder for drivers to stay alert, especially during busy travel days. Local police, fire, and EMS crews are always prepared to respond quickly, ensuring safety and efficient management of traffic incidents for the community.
