President’s Day is a federal holiday in the United States, observed on the third Monday in February to honor the country’s first president, George Washington, and all other past presidents.
The following is a list of what is typically closed on President’s Day:
- Federal offices and buildings, including the post office and Social Security offices.
- Some state and local government offices.
- Most banks and financial institutions.
- The stock market.
- Some schools and universities.
- Some businesses may also close, but this varies depending on the individual company.
It’s always a good idea to check with specific offices, schools, and businesses to confirm whether they are open or closed on President’s Day, as some may choose to remain open or have different holiday schedules.
All other past presidents? I thought it was an excuse to eliminate Lincoln’s birthday as a holiday and shove them together.
