  1. I viewed the meeting, went on for a longtime past my bedtime. What was finally decided.

  2. A few things were made clear. One is that the “threesome” stands firm as a bloc and of course voted in perfect syncrony, in spite of the gigantic number of objections to the huge garage. Another is that Aronosohn is going rogue, going directly to the BCIA to get his funding, for which he only needs three votes. Damn the laws of the land, just find a way around them. Another is that Albert’s trigger temper is still very much alive, as he went after a resident who alluded to the upcoming election. The resident was calm and polite, and Albert was wild, then Gwenn started holding up her cell phone. Such unprofessionalism from the dais, such calm in the audience. Flabbergasting.

  3. The business owner speaking here, Ed Sullivan, owner of 17-29 Chestnut St in the Village, spent 5 minutes citing a 1967 traffic study and then telling residents their taxes were too low.

    Go to Ed’s remarks: https://youtu.be/neb4TSJ4QsY?t=2h28m56s

Impressive strategy… if you want to make sure no one ever frequents your properties again.

  4. The business owners who spoke (Mango Jam, Art of Motion, Roots) all whined about business, but they all also stated having been in business for many many years in Ridgewood. So basically they are doing fine, but they just want us to spend our money so they can make more.

  5. What was shocking to me was when Reverend Jan Philips at the beginning of the public comment session accused the Ridgewood residents who were about to speak as GRANDSTANDING.

My God, Reverend Philips, And you head the Civility Meetings.

The residents who attended and spoke had heartfelt concerns. They love Ridgewood and have a vision for Ridgewood and wanted to make that vision known.

They want to preserve the charming character of Ridgewood. So they took time out of their busy lives to stand in line for hours for the opportunity to express themselves. For the allotted time of FIVE MINUTES.

Jan Philips you accused the residents of not engaging in diaglogue. Please tell me Reverened what you meant by that. Residents are given five minutes to pour their heart out.

What should they do? Tell me. Tell me. Knock on the doors of the council people’s homes and demand a long discussion.

Jan Philips you are a disgrace to organized religion. You make people WANT TO leave the church. And they do.

But believe me MS. Philips, we still believe in God, and the love and tolerance God wants us to have for our fellow beings, the civility that God wants us to show to our neighbors. In spite of you.

  6. Follow the money…

  7. Wow…Ed is a skunk.

Referencing data from 1967 is interesting. But not relevant. Not a single reference to the Internet which of course wasn’t publicly available in ’67. The Internet, as we know now, changed everything for businesses that used to rely on people going into a store and purchasing something.

In person shopping is an anachronism.

The taxpayers (read: homeowners) should not have to bear any burden associated with failing businesses.

Ed’s wrong…things have drastically changed in 48+ years.

  8. 10:55 the 3 Amigos pulled all the stops out last night. Not only Jan Philips but also Rabbi Fine and the Rev for S Broad St. I just want to know how they would feel if this giant parking garage was going to built next to the houses of worship. I bet the would be sing a different tune. On another note I guess it take 2 Rev and Rabbi to go up agains Father Ron. The 3 amigos were wrong.

  9. Maybe it is time to have houses of worship pat taxes, and the hell with the phony reverend Philips.

  10. At about 1:47 +/- a woman in white vest (i didn’t catch her name) is finishing her comments and someone on mike states very clearly “oh God”. That’s civility?

  11. I never thought of that 10:55.. Of course it was staged; the three amigos asked the other clergy to speak on their side.

Since they are harming Mount Carmel.

  12. Reverend Philips spoke at the beginning.

  13. Hey Albert how your re election campaign coming along after last night? Hows about your Gwen? Maybe Albert you should stick to your “day job” and Gwen you should stick with balancing your check book. Maybe then you would know if you donated $10,000. to Valley hospital.

  14. Just checked the Mayor’s news outlets Ridgewood News,Ridgewood Voice, The Record and the Patch. Not a word about last night meeting. You know that if last night went well for the 3 Amigos it would be front page with a picture of our mayor on those outlets.

  15. Clergy v clergy? Father Ron is the best, no contest.

Why did Gwenn hold up her phone? Was she watching kitten videos again?

  16. Thank you so much to our Council majority for cavalierly spending another $750,000 in tax dollars to get your way on a soon to be underutilized garage. I hope that they get your names spelled right on the plaque so that future taxpayers will know who to thank for this monument to incompetence in municipal government. Bravo Paul! Bravo Albert! Bravo Gwenn!

  17. 1:33, she angrily said a person in the audience was videoing her, and named the person. GH was aiming her phone toward where that person was sitting, and presumably was filming the filming, as if it mattered; probably not illegal. Almost the entire rest of the time (and perhaps, I’m just guessing, this was the reason for the filming, if indeed it was happening) GH looked down, playing on her phone or other electronic device, ignoring the speakers. If I had been one of them I would have asked her to please look up and listen, because people were begging to let their town remain nice.

  18. Not necessarily a slam dunk that the county will agree. What if we all wrote letters asking them not to?

  19. Going to the BCIA is a back-door way of going around the electorate.
    Plain and Simple.
$250,000 in additional cost to the taxpayers because the bond vote failed 3-2.
The Three Amigos talk about civility, but bare knuckle politics is just fine.
By the way, Roberta doesn’t speak the truth, she is a saleslady for the 3 Amigos.

  20. Hold the phone.who’s lying Valley or Gwenn. How can Valley falsify donor lists?

  21. The only reason I can think of that The Valley would want to falsify a donor list – to make it seem that everyone important was giving and that we should too. What I’d like to know though is why Ms. Hauck would have failed to contact The Valley to advise them of the error if she’s known about it for some time.

  22. Why shouldn’t a resident be allowed to take a video of a public meeting? The meeting is being live streamed too.

The bizarre behavior was Hauck holding up her phone. She in not supposed to be using her electronic device during meetings.

I wonder how she knew about the taping and why it bothered her so much?

  23. Let see if the viewers that watch the video of last night meeting can spot Alberts running mate from the people that spoke.

  24. Don’t want video of her not paying attention.
Those silly people that just keep complaining.
No need to listen to them.

  25. OK, so how wealthy is Gwenn anyway? Maybe she gave $10,000 – $25,000 but how can she be sure. Huh???

Gwenn looked so ridiculous when she was holding her phone up in the air. There were FOUR videos going the whole time, one from the CRB and three from the Village. Photographer from the Ridgewood News, other people clicking their cameras, it is all legal. How in the world could Gwenn suggest that a resident was “stalking” her when taking a picture. Crazy much Gwennie?

  26. On the tape at 5;43;10 ALBERT PUCCIARELLI: ” Somebody will pay the price for that. I don’t mean it as a threat but it’s a stupid thing to do.”

Really? The Deputy Mayor threatened Dana Glazer when all Dana did was wonder out loud whether the upcoming election was possibly driving the haste with which the garage is proceeding. How DARE the Deputy Mayor or any elected official threaten a member of the public. Mr. Glazer was totally calm, not boistrous, completely appropriate. He actually seemed sad about the way things were heading. And the Deputy Mayor said that? What the hell???

  27. Gwenn and Albert were ranting and raving, naming who in the audience was stalking and bullying and intimidating. Oh my gosh, they are hilarious.

  28. This the man that wants to re elected and become Mayor 10:53. I like to know who the “somebody” is ?

  29. WHO TOOK THIS PHOTO????

Who held up a phone and took a photo???

A stalker was in the room.

Quick, Gwenn, have that person apprehended for taking a photo at a public meeting when everyone else was taking pictures too.

  30. 8:36, very clearly the man (forget his name) I believe wearing a baseball jacket.
