Ridgewood NJ, I can’t imagine that a local company involved in the training & education of your children would spend money to advertise a product they could not deliver, could you?

Therefore, the appearance of this advertisement in a recent edition of the Suburban News, which indicates that a commercial enterprise (HealthBarn USA) is planning to use Village of Ridgewood owned property (The Stable) as its primary training location – currently without the formal approval of Ridgewood’s Village Council – makes me wonder whether someone at Village Hall should be investigated, or someone there should be fired.

What the heck is going on?

  1. It was a decision by elected officials. It is obviously not a secret. You may not like it but that’s how it goes.

If you want a say in every little decision by the cou cil then run for office.

the garage, high density housing and valley hospital will have a major impact on my tazes and quality of life.

  2. 9:35,

It’s a commercial venture in government confines. If you think that there isn’t some preference of one type of commercial venture over another, then try to tutor kids or provide financial planning services in the library. Once they get wise, you’ll be asked to leave.

  3. Well 9:35, there is a major flaw in your argument. You can run for office and you can get elected to office but you will not get a say in every decision and in many cases you will not be informed about some decisions at all. Aronsohn, Pucciarelli, and Hauck make their own rules and their own decisions and do not inform the other two. At council meetings it is often stated by Michael or Susan that they did not know anything about a subject, while the other three are fully informed.

  4. 12:52 – have you been in the library lately? Tutors are allowed to rent tables at $10/day to carry out their businesses. My son has been going to the same tutor in the library for years as have many, many of his friends.

  5. Businesses are operating in the library and at the stable – for the benefit of the residents.

Is every tutor vetted? The Health Barn seems like a good business. If residents don’t like the product then they won’t pay for the service. The business will leave. The market will figure it out.
