Ridgewood NJ, “someone was sleeping while your taxes were going up!”Looks like Village Council Candidate Janice Willet snoozed her way through every single one of the Valley whispering woods hearings. Literally every meeting. We only bothered to photo the one. I assure you meeting I almost covered her with a blanket. Sometimes, nothing could wake her, other times she just dozed.

  1. I watched her introduction video and listened to her carefully at the debate. In both of them she is saying she will keep the tax increase 2% every year.

Seriously? Just because we can increase the taxes up to 2% every year, does that mean we must?

We need someone at the council who would REDUCE the taxes, not increase them up to 2% every year.

  2. So I heard that she was the vice chair of financial advisory committee and has lived here since 66 and served on many local organizations.
Evan Weitz was brought in – new resident to the town, new member to the FAC, and he was made the chair of the financial advisory committee. Janice was not promoted but this outsider was appointed as the chair. Why? What’s the deal there? Is Janice Willet not competent or Evan Weitz promised to fulfill an agenda?

  3. Reminds me of my history teacher at RHS, sleeping all the time during class.

  4. 7.47. Snooze button called Tenure you snooze but don’t loose. Cheap power naps at 102 M yearly.

  5. Give her a break. She seems concerned and focused even while asleep.

  6. Looks like someone else is snoozing in the same photo… maybe the speaker was just that boring.

  7. So Weitz can’t come to meeting because he has a job, he has little kids, and the meetings go too late. Willet falls asleep. And Brooks is married to the planning board attorney. NO NO NO NO NO NO to weitz, Willett and brooks.

  8. With a new majority the Village Council will be run more efficiently with little to no need to meet late into the night as has regularly been the case with the current Three Amigo majority.

  9. How is she going to keep taxes at 2% if she wants to increase the number of families in town needing services? Remember, she is the candidate that openly welcomes more students in our schools.

And, by the way, what’s wrong with a target of lowering our taxes? Isn’t that the goal of the financial advisory committee?

  10. Only one candidate voted for an over 6% tax increase and then voted against a 0% tax increase.

  11. And who was that Brian? I know you are dying to tell us

  12. Feeling the Bern there Brian? I think you are!!

  13. I guess Jeff rounded up enough signatures for her. I assume they will be carefully checked for legality?
