Ridgewood NJ, at last weeks Village Council meeting, three new police officers were officially sworn in, marking the beginning of their service to our community. Each of these officers brings a unique background and a shared commitment to public safety, further strengthening our police department.
Officer Joseph Misilmeri joins the force with a distinguished background as a veteran of the United States Army. After his military service, Officer Misilmeri pursued higher education and recently earned a bachelor’s degree from Ramapo College of New Jersey. His dedication to serving his country now extends to protecting and serving our community.
Officer Adam Collura brings valuable experience from his previous roles as a police dispatcher for the Waldwick Police Department and an EMT with Bergen County EMS. Law enforcement runs in his family—Officer Collura honors the legacy of his aunt, Mary Ann Collura, who served the Fair Lawn Police Department and tragically lost her life in the line of duty. Officer Collura’s commitment to continuing his family’s tradition of service is deeply respected.
Officer Lukasz Adamkiewicz transitions to the police force after many years working with an international relocation company. His academic journey led him to Kean University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree. Now, Officer Adamkiewicz is ready to apply his skills and dedication to his new role in law enforcement.
These officers have recently graduated from the Bergen County Police Academy and are now beginning their training with the Ridgewood Police department.

What is amazing every time a police officer Or fireman retire, They are replaced pretty much immediately. But other departments just hang on keep on hanging on.
Yeah, because those positions are essential. Unlike the ones taken up by adult babies.
