Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Village Councilwoman Bernadette Walsh revealed last night that the Village’s Central Business District Re-Opening Plan (street closures creating a pedestrian mall with on street dining) is being funded in part by an unnamed “individual.” Council members voted unanimously to approve the plan. However, when a taxpayer asked that the “individual” be publicly identified, no response was received. Hmm. Who would volunteer to fund the expenses associated with creation of a pedestrian mall with on street dining?

And if you close off the street exactly where will everyone Park. There are residential areas that do not need to have strangers roaming throughout their neighborhood violating those street parking rules as well. it’s bad enough when parades, or events in Van neste square happen I can’t imagine what this town is going to look like for however the duration
Been here since 1960 but forced to exit due to property taxes. May lose home as on fixed income.
Just open everything
The BOE and Village Council don’t care about your property taxes. Their spending is out of control. Zero discipline and zero cuts (except for a joke cosmetic reduction of the BOE budget so the Council can pat themselves on the back and say they did something). Worst governance this Village has ever had, and that’s saying a lot!

I’ve never seen firefighters at a pedestrian mall, but I guess the RFD will want to get in on the OT bonanza that their police department peers are in on as well, right?
If the Council accepts this gift they have to disclose the name.
