Watchdog group: Menendez violated ethics rules with free trips

The leader of a watchdog group said today that Sen. Robert Menendez violated ethics rules by taking two free trips on a friend’s plane in 2010, but he may avoid prosecution because he paid the charter rate of $58,500 for the trips this month.

  1. PJ thanks for staying on top of this story , I am starting to see it reported every where

  2. I don’t like Sen. Menendez and I feel that he’s only in Congress to pay back his cronies from the Hudson County political machine. However, I hope that he is innocent as the last thing we need is another political scandal. He should have known better for taking free air travel for any purposes but if the allegations are true, he should man-up and step down and not put the people of NJ through an enormous charade.
