Wayne NJ, a police-involved shooting occurred Friday night in the White Birch Court neighborhood of Wayne, New Jersey, after officers encountered a man armed with two swords during a welfare check.

Suspect in Critical But Stable Condition

The 34-year-old Wayne resident was shot by an officer and transported to a hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Investigation Underway by Attorney General’s Office

The Shooting Response Team was activated following the incident, and the case is now under review by the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, as required by state protocol whenever an officer uses deadly force.

    1. Are you suggesting the officer should have gotten closer to sword(s) wielding man to spray him in the eye or tase him? Please. Sounds like he got what he deserved.

      1. Were the police threatened by the man with the swords, whom they were sent to protect? Do you know? So how do you know what he deserved?

        Funny how all these wellness checks seem to turn into ad hoc assassinations.
