Dear RHS Class of 2020,
We hope this message finds you and your family all safe and well during this unprecedented time in our lives. While we normally save our alumni greeting for Graduation Day, we felt this year’s Seniors deserved an early, special welcome.
At sunrise today, a group of Ridgewood High School Alumni Association (RHSAA) trustees, friends and family members as well as Mayor Hache (RHS ’91), Dr. Gorman (RHS ’87), Chief Luthcke (RHS ’88), Dr. Fishbein, Mr. Nyhuis, and Mr. Pizzuto, all came together to hang 436 maroon and white senior banners in honor of you. These RHS 2020 banners were hung throughout our beautiful Village to highlight and celebrate each member of the RHS Class of 2020.
Our sole mission was not only to recognize and to celebrate you, but to stress our eagerness to welcome you as the newest alumni into our ranks. The entire Class of 2020 is modern day proof that the “Tradition of Excellence” is thriving, enduring and resilient.
Between now and Graduation Day, we hope that you will walk through Ridgewood to locate your banner, take a photo and share with family and friends. The banners are our gift to you. Banners have been randomly hung on fences in high traffic areas at RHS (facing East Ridgewood Avenue), BF Middle School (facing Glen Avenue), Graydon Park (facing both Linwood and Maple Avenues), GW Middle School (on Monroe Street facing Citizens Park) and Citizens Park (facing Monroe Street and Godwin Avenue) and will remain hanging through June 30th.
We are proud of this community of young, vibrant, creative, enthusiastic, talented and compassionate young adults. We also want to wish you all the best in your future endeavors, whether college/university bound, engaging in the workforce, traveling abroad, or still deciding on plans moving forward. We encourage you to continue to check our website www.rhsalumniassociation.org in order to stay connected to the RHS community and our ever growing alumni network, as well as to keep up to date with the latest RHSAA events.
Be Strong Class of 2020! We are proud to have you join us as RHS alumni and hope you will find an opportunity to get involved with the RHS Alumni Association in the near future. We need you!
Sincerely,
The RHS Alumni Association Board of Trustees
