  1. >Reminder: The League of Women Voters “Candidates Night” for Village Council candidates will be held on Monday, May 1 at 7:30 PM. Location is the Ed Center on Cottage place, top floor. Be there or be square!

  2. >I like to see the candidates at least act like they are interested

  3. >You have my support, you trouble maker.

  4. >who the HELL does the Ridgewood News think they are telling me what I can read or not

  5. >I heard the town pays a cop 150 grand to keep a lid on underage smoking ? you must me joking. How about turing our energies to somthing involving more serious police work?

  6. >To: Anti Government Grumbler
    From: Anonymous at Ridgewood News

    Commrade Grumbler,

Do not be so negative about local Tass. This be done for your own good. We are all knowing. Continue with upset at Tass and two KGB agents will escort you back to indoctrination center at NJ Media Group HQ.

  7. >to: sallymiddle

thanks for the tip but they tried it already ,no such luck

  8. >Want to know Ridgewood’s biggest problem? The sense of entitlement among its citizenry.

Don’t bother to look up as you stroll into oncoming traffic whilst gabbing on your BlackBerrys, or better yet, with your golden children in tow. That special “force field” button on your Patek Philippe watches will protect you.

Careen recklessly about downtown in your oversized SUVs with no regard for the law or public safety. Don’t worry…we weren’t going anywhere important and could hardly expect to get there in one piece.

Bitch about the parking problem as you pull your Jaguar into that handicapped space. Oh, you’ll only be a few minutes? Sure, we can cut you yet another break.

Complain about how bad things are in Silver Spoon City, and by all means let the same poor suckers run for council and the school board over and over again, so you can continue to have someone at whom to point your well-manicured fingers in disdain. You’ve been leaving the dirty work to others all of your lives…why stop now?

Woe are the poor, poor souls who have more than enough of everything but can’t figure out how to find Utopia. How awful it must be for all of you elitists to have to live in a town that’s…gasp…ordinary!

  9. >Patek Philippe? A little people’s time piece! Jaguars? SUVs? Old news from 2002. Blackberry’s? Very yesterday. Get with it man. Get hip. You either talking TAG Heuer, Hummer and Treo, or your from Glen Rock.

  10. >Indeed, I am low-class rabble. I shop at Target and look both ways before crossing the street. I also drive a used (not “pre-owned”) car, which I actually pull to a stop at “Stop” signs. Further, I know how to read and to comprehend what I’m reading.

There’s an old joke that’s apropos of the moment:

A man from Glen Rock is relieving himself at men’s room urinal when a Ridgewood man steps up beside him to do the same. When the Glen Rock man finishes, he neglects to stop at the sink as he heads for the exit door.

“You know,” the Ridgewood man sniffs, “my mother taught me to wash my hands after urinating.”

“You know” replies the Glen Rock man, “my father taught not to piss on my hands.”

  11. >Johnny I shop at Target too

  12. >Ahh, I see an exposed nerve. Johnny, get grip – it was joke.

  13. >Whitefang, judging by your assessment of the Ridgewood News editorial as well as my last post, you apparently read far too much into things.

Perhaps you might try to take things at face value once in awhile…or maybe you just prefer to pay scalper’s prices for everything.
