Ridgewood NJ, work continues on the Zabriskie Schedler property on West Saddle River road in Ridgewood .
Debate continues to rage over the cost of the redevelopment and preservation and use of the property .
The New Jersey Historical Preservation office lists Zabriskie Schedler House as a historic place.
Because of recent cost over runs the Village Council is taking a second look at the bids on the property and while there were concerns the council may throw in the towel and demolish the house ,last Wednesday Mayor Hache made it clear that as of the last council meeting that was not on the agenda .
The parking garage will have “cost overruns” too. But don’t worry. Parking meter rates will go up to say $1.50 an hour in the CBD to take care of it. All is well. And Mayor Hache , the spiffy dresser, will say: “You will have to dig a little deeper.” That’s fine, Mayor Hache, as long as I can park on Union Street for free. So’s I can walk to post office or shoe repair.
Mayor Hache’s words imply that he believes that only the wealthy should live in Ridgewood. He does not want seniors on a fixed income like me to be here. I can’t afford 75 cents an hour for parking.
Hache is a conservative Republican masking as a democrat because democrats are trendy in New Jersey.
They should’ve never put in brick pavers between the sidewalk and curb they are all falling apart. That should’ve been concrete only. Less maintenance.
People wake up, this project is going to be going on for a few years. They’re going to spend every penny and then some. Good luck stopping it now. If you do, then you have to give back all of the money and they will not do that. You just don’t know the way the Village plays chess.

Hache, in his remark , “You will have to dig a little deeper.” That is a remark that refuses to acknowledge people who cannot afford 75 cents an hour, people like me a senior on a fixed income or anyone struggling to make ends meet. That is why I called him a conservative Republican. Maybe that was wrong. What is not wrong is that in his heart he does not care about poor people. He only cares about his own political career. He has no heart. He is a sham. Not to think that some people may find 75 cents a hardship is appalling. Especially for someone who is supposed to serve the people. What about offering seniors a freeze on parking meter rates, those seniors who meet certain income criteria. Or perhaps telling us about Union street. That is where I park. Hache, show some sympathy, amigo. You damn phony. As far as I am concerned He is no Democrat. I don’t care what he calls himself. Democrats care about seniors and the poor. That’s why I have always been a Democrat. All of my life. Close to 80 frickin years.

After garage is built parking meter rates should go down to 25 and 50 cents an hour. Depending on location. The garage should pay for itself.
If it cant pay for itself it shouldn’t have been built.
