Wholesale Prices Rose at a Near Record 10.8% Annual Rate

Washington DC, the Producer Price Index (Wholesale Prices) for final demand increased 0.8 percent in May, seasonally adjusted, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. This rise followed advances of 0.4 percent in April and 1.6 percent in March.

On an unadjusted basis, final demand prices moved up 10.8 percent for the 12 months ended in May. In May, nearly two-thirds of the rise in the index for final demand was due to a 1.4-percent advance in prices for final demand goods. The index for final demand services increased 0.4 percent. Prices for final demand less foods, energy, and trade services moved up 0.5 percent in May after increasing 0.4 percent in April.

For the 12 months ended in May, the index for final demand less foods, energy, and trade services rose 6.8 percent.

  2. More like 40 percent and going higher. Called my idiot Democrat Congressperson’s office and asked what are you doing about inflation? Her assistant said well people are driving less and not shopping as much so that should help.
    I LMAO and said so people driving less and eating less is the Democrat solution to inflation? Great. Don’t drive anywhere, stay home and starve.

  4. It’s ridiculous, I bought a large container of Philadelphia cream cheese it was just on the nine dollars in Stop & Shop. Are they nuts

  5. I know it is nuts, how much do you think a bagel with cream cheese is now in a bagel store, just on the six dollars for a gallon of gas ridiculous and Eight bucks for a quart of oil.
