Glen Rock, NJ—A dramatic series of events unfolded recently at a local CVS, highlighting the challenges faced by both law enforcement and retailers. In a remarkable display of quick thinking and determination, a Glen Rock police officer apprehended a shoplifter after a foot chase and tackle. However, the store was hit by a second incident the very next day, with another thief getting away with a surprising haul.
The Takedown: A Citizen-Assisted Arrest
On August 26, just before 10 p.m., a shoplifting was reported at the CVS in the Rock Road Central Business District. A man had loaded a bag with various items, including $244 worth of deodorant, body wash, eye drops, a hair cutting kit, and candy before fleeing the store.
Officer Andrew Magro, responding to the call, was quickly pointed toward the suspect by several helpful citizens. The officer gave chase on foot, ultimately tackling the man on Rodney Street and taking him into custody. The stolen items were recovered, and the suspect, identified as Michael Hand, 33, of Highland Lakes, was charged with several offenses, including resisting arrest, drug possession, and shoplifting.
A Bold Second Attempt: The Case of the Missing Deodorant
The very next day, the same CVS manager reported another incident. Store surveillance video revealed a man acting suspiciously before leaving the store. The footage confirmed he had stolen a staggering $455 worth of deodorant.
The suspect in this case is described as a white male in his 30s, clean shaven, wearing green shorts, a grey shirt, grey sneakers, and an orange baseball cap. He was last seen walking toward Rock Road. The Glen Rock Detective Bureau is actively reviewing video surveillance as they work to identify the suspect.

445$ in deodorant is a dumb as shit
3 years from now you’ll still be buying deodorant while this guy is set for life, so who is the real dummy?
It all gets re-sold in stores that don’t ask questions about where the merchandise comes from.
Need a pic of this dude….want to see if it’s the guy that I saw in that store 5 years ago.
