Ridgewood NJ, With the expected Village Council “majority” approval of a resolution endorsing an Open Space Committee plan to build a 90 foot baseball field, including a concession stand, on the Schedler property, and demolish the existing historic house to facilitate same, this taxpayer predicts that Village Engineer Christopher Rutishauser will soon be ordering a demolition excavator to accomplish the dirty task.
I wonder if the police department will be ordered to completely close off West Saddle River Road so no one can get photos or videos of the destruction in progress?  What time of day do you think they’ll start the engines?  Under the cover of darkness maybe?

  1. Is the building architecturally significant? Can it be moved?

  2. Many of us will lie on the ground in front of the house with signs that say ARONSOHN YOU LIED TO GET ELECTED.

  3. Really 925, I hope you say that with tongue in cheek.

  4. I don’t believe the RBSA or RLAX wants to go to war with the East side. They never said a compromise wasn’t possible. The Mayor, DM Pucciarelli and Ms. Hauck started this fight!

  5. If they demolish this house it will be a HUGE mistake. This will be a big part of Aronsohn’s dreadful legacy. Thank God the tenure of the terrible three will be ending soon. Let’s see how much can be delayed until they are GONE. Then sanity can once again reign

  6. Town is already ruined with high density housing and parking deck in a crowded area. Will be high and ugly. And they will build the assisted living facility that will bring is a lot of traffic from staffing.

They won’t demolish the house; Peggy Norris wanted to save it for an historic library and it would be too crass for them to chop it down. But they will build a big ball field and chop down all the trees and get rid of the wildlife and then complain about there being too many deer and their has to be a deer hunt. (Already took away most deer land)

  7. If these people want to save the house they should offer to put a statue of the 3 amigos in exchange for not tearing down the house. Their egos can’t resist .

  8. Those people made a deal with 3 devils during election time what did they expect.

  9. Why not move the house to another location on the property? Given the condition of the house, it makes sense before repairs are made. It seems a shame to tear down the house, and I would like to belief that a compromise can be found. The money isn’t an issue. The collective ego of the 3 Amigos is. I live nowhere near this property, fyi. I have no skin in the game. But I’d like to see a compromise FOR ONCE that puts the longer term health of our community first, and puts the the Mayor and his cronies second.

  10. If they do knock it down they should do it before the next election and be honest about their mendacity.

  11. Honesty from this administration? Certainly you’re joking! “Anything but the truth” shoud be their next campaign slogan.

  12. Ustream council meeting is a bunch of horse Hauck and canon balls. Save the house so Hauck can display her balls. worth it to see the spectacle of her big revolutionary balls for all to admire. she starts out sounding sincere guess she got a kick under the table from mr civility. About face.
