Wood-Ridge NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of GALO A. FERNANDEZ (DOB: 10/02/1999; single; parking attendant) of Wood-Ridge, NJ on charges of possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.
On Wednesday, September 13, 2023, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of GALO FERNANDEZ during a months-long Internet child pornography investigation. The investigation revealed that FERNANDEZ used the Internet to view, download, possess, distribute, and share items depicting nude and/or sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children.
As a result of the investigation, GALO FERNANDEZ was arrested on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 in Paramus, NJ and charged with second-degree distribution of child pornography, N.J.S.A 2C:24-4b(5)(a)(i); and third-degree possession of child pornography, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4b(5)(b)(iii). FERNANDEZ was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Prosecutor Musella thanks the Wood-Ridge Police Department for their assistance as well as the Paramus, Washington Township, and Hasbrouck Heights Police Departments.
