RIDGEWOOD, NJ — A late-night police chase turned dangerous on Friday, August 22, when a Honda HR-V allegedly fleeing multiple Bergen County police agencies entered Route 17 from Hollywood Avenue in Ho-Ho-Kus, heading southbound in the northbound lanes.
Shortly before 11:00 p.m., the HR-V struck both a tractor-trailer and a Honda Odyssey van near Race Track Road in Ridgewood, causing a serious crash that left multiple people injured.
Multiple Injuries Reported
First responders rushed to the scene, with several ambulances dispatched. At least two victims, including the HR-V’s male driver, were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Police confirmed the driver was taken into custody, though the reason he was allegedly evading officers has not yet been disclosed.

HazMat on the scene?
Let’s build a sports complex on that same highway, just 100 yards away!
And let’s place home plate directly adjacent to northbound traffic!
