New Jersey State Code, section 15, you risk a $250 fine. – § 7:27-15.8 Idle standard – (a) No person shall cause, suffer, allow, or permit the engine of a gasoline-fueled motor vehicle to idle for more than three consecutive minutes if the vehicle is not in motion.
Nearly all county health departments have been delegated authority to enforce the new idling standards. In addition, State and local police departments can enforce the standard on public roadways and on private property.
Yep, the police can ticket you for idling in your driveway.
Good luck I’m letting my car warm up before I move it. I don’t care what they say start your car warm it up fully defrosted before moving it common sense.

Do cars have to be warmed up for more than a minute or two. I have a 16 year old car. I don’t think I warm it up in my driveway more than a minute. Maybe I should.
And meanwhile this garbage state emits tons of pollution from power plants, manufacturing etc. The legislature could not pass a bill for reduction of pollution.
Yeah, it’s all about money from us, the people who live here. By the way, or BTW, on my tax return I NEVER contribute a dollar to the government of N.J. I would never contribute a dime for N.J. What the f….k do they do with the money they get from all the taxes. Double dipping pensions, and huge govt. and teachers benefits and probably a lot of secret perks. Fancy jets for traveling and so on, fancy meals , fancy hotels. Fancy Shamancy. They , the NJ govt. all garbage.
How about all of the running trucks at the recycling center? The idling police cars?

So very true police cars run 98% of the time. They’re allowed. And cops are allowed to drive around using holding their cell phone I guess they’re allowed to. Way too much bullshit.
What really amazes me we see this every morning with commuters just jumping in their car without warming it defrosting the frosting all the windows flying down the block they can’t even see out the window real safe. That amazes all of us .warm up defrost all the windows don’t be a fool.
Gee what about all the parents waiting for their child at the schools? Them too?
