Paramus NJ, The DOT has a big problem on Front Road & Midland Avenue in Paramus that is why a rare warning sign has been placed on From Road at Midland Avenue before traffic signals, “Right Turn Must Yield To Pedestrians”. I see big problems there too but I have a different solution. Motorists making a right on red especially during rush hour are forced to move fast to avoid getting hit by fast moving horn blowing vehicles coming from under the Garden State Parkway overpass. See enclosed photos taken on a quiet Sunday of a white car forced to abruptly stop on crosswalk as a speeding black car passes. Scared drivers who would prefer not to make a right on red are forced to make a right turn by horn blowing motorists from behind.
My solution is ” NO RIGHT ON RED” or NO RIGHT ON RED DURING RUSH HOUR” The DOT sign is warning motorists not to hit pedestrians or cars. My suggestion will stop motorists from hitting pedestrians or cars.

“car forced to abruptly stop on crosswalk as a speeding black car passes”
Seriously, The white car has a red light. It is supposed to stop.
The law is Right on red, after stop. That is a complete stop. Just like a stop sign.
There is no “abruptly”.
Right turn on red should not be allowed there. Visibility to the left is inadequate to allow for cars approaching from the left to be seen.
The city of Paramus
Right turn on red was always a terrible idea. Plenty of lives lost and cars hit.
Totally agree.
You gotta be crazy to move into Paramus . That place trying to be a city, you can’t even move with all the traffic and pollution. It’s one big parking lot now. And it’s going to get worse. What do you have there? Highways and county roads and every road is busy. No thank you, and all those stores bring in crime you could enjoy it not me
Paramus, or wait another two years is going to look like New York City. Enjoy.
