  1. Should be absolutely laughable comments from the dais with Vagianos on board. Get out your snacks and beers.

  2. Becky must be happy about the results, right Paul?

  3. Anyone know how turnout compared to past elections? According to some, November elections were going to make more people vote. How did that play out?

  4. Could not be happier with our local elections. Sheila Brogan a seasoned BOE member with experience and wisdom. Paul Vagianos a new voice aiming to bring unity and foresight to the
Village Council. Thanks to all the residents who thought enough to take the time to VOTE.

  5. How in God’s name could people vote for Brogan ?

Vag beat Hooban by 1000 votes. I didn’t see that coming. Let’s hope the other council members hold this clown accountable.

  6. too bad the most responsible Ms. Kwak did not win the seat. Taxes will go up and up and up now with over development. Based on petty comments with local FB group, no unity here.

  7. Not a big turnout at all, 34% of our residents voted that’s it wow. Not good that means 34% of the population is controlling the village.

  8. Huh ? Kwak won her seat back.

James – please continue to hold Vag’s feet to the fire. Cockroaches run from the light.

  9. These figures don’t yet include early/mail votes, I believe?

  10. It’s time for Brogan to be BOE President again and return some real leadership to the RBOE. Stop the nonesense. Clearly the community loves Sheila.

  12. With 98% of the precincts in, Ciattarelli – a former member of the state Assembly – was leading Murphy by about 1,200 votes.

  13. Cemetary votes coming in now…most have selected Murphy.

  14. Terrible all around with Kaufman, Vagianos, Murphy winning. Down the tubes we go. On state level there is no way for a republican to overcome Newark, Camden, Jersey City and Elizabeth.
The low participation locally in RW is typical big city mindset and shows that ppl don’t really care.
This year resident turnover will only accelerate the urbanization and wokeness of the school system. Kwak barely holds onto her seat with Mahmoud very close. We are under the grip of woke idiots who care about feelings and not quality of education for even their kids. Same bunch who is itching to jab their little ones. Vagianos is no uniting figure either, it’s laughable when his cronies say that. Next 2-4 years are the nail in the coffin for RW and NJ in general. And stop saying Murphy is getting a message from the voters, he will be even more ferocious moving forward. Just wait a few more days and you’ll see.

  15. Incredibly disappointing that Vag won. Just goes to show you that there’s a secret society in town and they decided to actually vote in this election.

    At least Younkin beat McAuliffe.

  16. “How in God’s name could people vote for Brogan ?”

    Easy,

    1) Ballot says “vote for three”

    2) RW residents are too stupid to realize that they can vote for only one or two

    3) The KAUFMAN + MAHMOUD voters chose BROGAN as #3

    4) The MADISON + KWAK voters chose BROGAN as #3

  17. vag was riding the feed the front line wave. If he tried this next year he would have lost. Big dev on it’s way

  18. Vag lied about his credentials, lied about his plans for Ridgewood, lied about his relationship with Feed the front lines (yeah, he benefitted financially), lied about his association with JOLT and, most importantly, had the entire CBD community and Bergen County machine behind him.

Melanie Hooban was genuine, honest, and had no outside support. Laurie Bender/Weber and Erin Taddei reporting out events that supposedly happened years ago did not help. How could Melanie possibly have won?

Now we have to go back and begin to fight overdevelopment again. God help Ridgewood.

  19. Great job RW voters! Voting in a fractured board again. Call the realtors bc the schools will co ti ur to sink!!

  20. Melanie lost because she supported Mayor Knudsen and the Mayor supported her. That was her downfall. Melanie refused to speak out against the Mayor’s most unpopular decisions such as locking senior citizens out of the Pickleball courts, etc., etc., Had Melanie distanced herself from Mayor Knudsen and her unpopular policies she would have had a much better chance getting elected. Many people voted for Paul as the anti-Knudsen candidate.

  21. What’s the backstory with Hooban and Taddei? Have heard the rumblings before but as a relative noob to RW there’s a lot of inside baseball I’m not familiar with

  22. Hooban’s support of Knudsen wasn’t even a consideration for me. I voted for her because I didn’t Vag to get the site.
