Hillsdale NJ, A massive structure fire broke out in Hillsdale shortly before 1:00 a.m., drawing an extensive mutual aid response from across Bergen County. Firefighters faced challenging conditions and an intense volume of flames as they fought to bring the early morning blaze under control.

Upon arriving at the scene at 116 Piermont Avenue, Hillsdale Fire Department Chief Farrell immediately recognized the severity of the situation. Because the fire was so advanced, initial teams had to operate in a strategic defensive mode for approximately 25 minutes.
