So either the fix or cover up is underway or a real investigation shall begin..
Notifying the vendor of non continuation nor extention is just a negotiation
ploy ;a valid starting point , but not an end.Who knew what and when?
What the hell is being done to hold those responsible for this misrepresentation ,,meantime the commuters got screwed over and over again on rates and cash was moving under the gunwhales as standard operating fiasco..who is being held responsible for this misgovernance..
who in the previous administration approved this vendors withholding of village revenues ,,how long was this fact known perhaps over a year? and covered up?Tip of iceberg..full VOR AUDIT NEEDED…
I agree fully with the previous post. It seems a lot of sneaky actions are taking place both by the council and the village government. The prior administration and council are GONE. You really have to quit using them as fall guys. Somehow mysterious things keep happening. No gremlin is responsible. And it can’t be just one person in the know because majority rules. Do we have a secret second council who is doing these things? To use a famous quote, Ridgewood “must wake up and smell the roses”. Because what you are producing STINKS!
Ridgewood as a nice place to live was virtually destroyed by the prior council. The push to turn Ridgewood into Union city , with high density housing created a need for massive upgrades of the Village infrastructure . This will take a decade , water, sewer, traffic, schools .police , fire and so on all need massive taxpayer funded upgrades do to the actions of the 3 amigos and Roberta . The Villages ability to increase revenue has also been curtailed by giveaway contracts and bad leases . So no no one with any sense will stop blaming the Paul Aronsohn , Gween and albert as well as their side kick flunky Roberta
James, I completely agree with you but If their actions are leaving Ridgewood with such disastrous complications, can’t we do anything? And if we can’t (why?) take them to court. It will take longer but it could prevent horrible things continuing to happen to Ridgewood. We all are well aware that those members listed above had an objective which they worked hard to obtain (destroying Ridgewood as we knew it) but can’t some remedial action be taken?
Interesting plan, certainly can’t argue that an audit would be helpful. Also all really need to stop blaming previous council and management, been a while and issues are not getting better.
We really should look at how we chose leaders, what their qualifications and experiences are and how they could help. Whatever the previous council was, our current mayor and team are wholly inexperienced people all with their own agenda. The mayor has no experience at running a government and others are local reporters who happened to be assigned to meetings. This is not exactly an Ivy League team. As in anything else you get what you ask for, and we we asked for nice local people who seemed to have a main goal of gettimg their kids on the payroll, and just punting every issue.
Can anyone really believe that these are the best leaders we could have ? This town has well respected CEO’s and successful business people who could, drive change and yet we chose a minor league team. What do we think a driven leader would do about the parking meter money, theft, and cost of application ?
Do we really believe that the mayors kids are the best police and fire people we can hire ? I know they passed the tests, but shouldn’t we press for the best in everything. Think about it, these folks can’t even manage delivering water to homes, picking up leaves, parking and train station solutions, road maintenance, etc and yet they are supposed to lead
We all should be demanding better.
Nice to see that ya’ll are finally taking your head out of your asses and realize that you have been getting screwed for years. And James, stop with the Union City crap. It’s getting old. We don’t need “massive upgrades” to anything. Do we need extra capacity to bring the town into the future? Sure. But your doomsday predictions because a few developers understand what the towns future residents want is classic of the Ridgewood NIMBY attitude that keeps anything from moving around here. Including how the municipal govt. works. You want change or will you continue to bitch and moan anytime anyone takes action. We can’t move forward if you insist on remaining in the past.
The past village manager led the council to believe that the village would incur only the 35 cents per transaction which would go to Park Mobile. She signed a contract with an additional 21 percent off the top.No one would have been okay with this. Why she was so determined to go ahead with this bad deal for Ridgewood is a mystery. Current council members who were there at the time were not made aware of the additional charges. It looks like the village is out close to 200,000 dollars due to this poor contract. Whether anything illegal occurred is unclear but it was a bad contract and it looks as though the past village manager at best was deceitful in her communication with the council and acted poorly on behalf of the village.
The jury is still out on whether the previous Village Manager told any members of the Council about the “additional 21 percent.” Until there is a complete review of all electronic correspondence about Parkmobile, everyone is guilty.
Follow the gifts council members are getting this holiday season. Ask them to disclose those.
From vendors and also From the employees.
Follow the adventure sports activities attended by council members and senior village staff together and ask them who is funding those.
What venture sports? Was this a one-time “team building” activity or a continually on-going thing?
