November 6th Election Signs Must Be Removed Including the Josh Gottheimer Signs

Ridgewood NJ, As per Village Code, today, November 26, is the last day that temporary signs related to the November 6, 2018 election may lawfully remain displayed on your property.

Village Code reads: Political signs. Temporary, non-illuminated, political signs, as described in Subsection (A)(8) above of this chapter and section, shall be permitted in all zones. Signs for candidates shall be removed no later than 20 days after date of the election in which the candidate was considered for vote. In the case of primary elections, the signs of all candidates who fail to remain as candidates in the ensuing general election shall be removed no later than 10 days after the date of the primary election. Such signs may be freestanding or attached to the wall or facade of a building or structure. Such signs may only be placed on the property with the permission of the property owners or person in authority to provide such permission.

  1. This applies to commercial property only. For example, fee simple owners of property on which single family houses are erected cannot legally be constrained by such an ordinance. The restrictions would be unconstitutional.

  3. Based on this, the jumbo-sized Gottheimer sign held by the bear (for the past year?) needs to go.

  4. Get a life, sign duty. Lol

  5. Taxpayer, if the code enforcement is out checking signs, the ‘taxpayers’ can get a break from hosing with the $85 leaf tickets.

  6. Any sign within 10′ of the street is probably on public property. Make that idiot dwarf take down the signs.
