Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Police report a Woodside Avenue resident responded to Ridgewood Police headquarters on October 12, 2019, to report a stalking incident. The victim reported an unknown person contacted him on a published phone line after an editorial of his was published in the Bergen Record. The victim reported the caller has different political beliefs and is concerned for his welfare but no threats have been made. The incident was documented at this time.
The letter appeared in the 10/11 edition. Here it is:
Taxes part of the price of civilization
Regarding “Don’t allow NJEA to buy state Assembly candidates” (George Kneisser column, Opinion, Oct. 8): George Kneisser of NJ Citizens for Property Tax Reform neglects to mention quite a few facts in his column. States with weak teachers’ unions invariably are the lowest-ranked in public schools throughout the nation. Of course, that is OK with Mr. Kneisser, because if you go on the website for his organization you will see that he wants to destroy all public unions by making New Jersey a “right to work state.” Right to work is a far-right euphemism for workers giving up all their rights.
His organization also bashes public education in general, and wants to promote “school choice,” the far-right euphemism for destroying public education. He blames all of New Jersey’s financial woes on the NJEA, failing to mention that our pension system was in great shape until Gov. Christine Whitman raided it to pay for her tax cuts. As with the other far-right, anti- government people The Record has recently published, there is no mention of what a society needs to function properly.
All they chant is that taxes are too high, neglecting to mention that taxes are, as I have noted previously, the price we pay for civilization. We need to realize that the tax laws of our federal government, and local governments, have favored the elite for decades. Mr. Kneisser and his acolytes, either wittingly or unwittingly, do the bidding of the elite.

Anyone making public comments opens themselves up to a reply. I enable anonymous call rejection so private callers cannot contact me. Unfortunately that does not stop the scumbag telemarketers that use “caller ID spoofing “
I’ve grown so accustomed to assuming that the Caller I.D. name is phony that I didn’t answer the robo-call from Ridgewood Water yesterday. Fortunately, it left a message.
