Ridgewood NJ, Several Ridgewood Police officers escorted the Village’s 2020 Christmas Tree to the intersection of East Ridgewood Avenue and North Broad Street on Saturday morning, November 21st.. Officers also provided traffic control while workers from Downes Tree Service removed the tree from a flatbed trailer and erected it.
The Village of Ridgewood’s Downtown for the Holidays Tree Lighting Celebration has a revised plan, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The current plan is subject to change, based on what occurs with the COVID-19 pandemic in the coming weeks. The event will be held on December 4, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The streets will not be closed down, so there will be no fire truck or trackless train.
Who is connected with Downes? They always get the work.
Free meals for life at Its Greek to Me for tree company owner?
Downes donates their time if I’m not mistaken
It’s called one and washes the other.
Great photos Boyd, as always. Thank you
Let’s be clear: Downes does *NOT* “donate their time”. They charge the Village hundreds of thousands of dollars per year to clean the leaves. I think it’s only appropriate that they “throw in” the Christmas tree work (minimal cost, anyway).
