Ridgewood NJ, in a few months as the weather improves workers from medical buildings including 1200 east Ridgewood Avenue & other nearby buildings on south side of the avenue will once again risk their lives crossing this busy avenue to get to the wild duck pond to walk or eat lunch, It reminds me of young sea turtles in Cosumel Mexico dashing from their nests to the nearby ocean while trying to avoid being picked off by hungry birds overhead. Two painted or lit up cross walks across this very busy Ridgewood avenue at the entrance and exit to the wild duck pond would be a great way to help pedestrians crossing back and forth.

There is a crosswalk at the corner of Pershing and East Ridgewood that people use. There are no sidewalks on the southern part of E Ridgewood Ave beyond McHuges; none from that point and to the west. People should be crossing and walking on the north side of the street through the duck pond. With that said, people do come out of 1200 East Ridgewood avenue and cross to walk in the park. And putting in the ginormous CVS at the corner is going to be a nightmare for anyone trying to cross.
Which that said, NO ONE stops for pedestrians using the Pershing crosswalk. I cross there 2-3x/day and most of the time I am taking my life into my own hands. The lights turn green at Paramus Road and pleasant and it’s like an open freeway between those two lights. Literally cars are going 50 miles an hour down Ridgewood avenue. No time to stop for pedestrian in that crosswalk. I think cross walks in front of 1200 East ridgewood, where there are no sidewalks, would be a disaster. People are looking for the entrances to those building which are poorly marked, they are looking for.the duck pond,.they are.distrscted and adding a crosswalk there will get someone killed.
Maybe we need to put one by the ginormous CVS and 7-Eleven , near their exits at the bridge. It’s a County Road and it’s in Paramus so good luck with that.
They should put a path along side the Saddle River that is going under Ridgewood Avenue, then people could use the path to get from the Medical Buildings to the Duck Pond without worrying about traffic.
The Saddle River goes right along the side of the Duck Pond and also right along the side of the parking lots by the medical buildings.
How about building an underground path?
We’ll call it Tedesco’s Tunnel !
The only problem is the county won’t maintain it, like their roads.
WHY? Know body stops and lets pedestrians walk anyway.
Know body nos the trouble eyve sean.

ginormous 🤦♂️
I love that word! A contraction of giant and enormous
Ah, the old days 50 years ago when we would grab the kids’ hands and race across E. Rwd Ave. from the Duck Pond to get ice cream at T&W!
I remember that too😊
And then you have people that just walk across the road without looking, they’re on their phone, looking down at the road, not paying attention amazing. They need to have a common sense class in the high school 101 can I teach it? I would have a lot of fun with these people. But the problem is people can’t handle the truth. They’ll record me and say I’m too rough, everyone’s too sensitive.
