Ridgewood NJ, Parking fees were collected in Ridgewood via ParkMobile on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, a recognized Federal holiday. Juneteenth is the only recognized Federal holiday not noted as a “free parking day” in Village Code Section 265-1, B, Holidays.

The Ridgewood Blog wonders if the exclusion of Juneteenth as a “free parking day” in the Village was an oversight on someone’s part, or a deliberate omission (money grab).

  1. The $ collected will go towards reparations.

  2. It’s not a real holiday…let’s be honest with ourselves.

  3. Seems like for Ridgewood – JuneTeenth doesn’t exist.
There was no acknowledgement of June Teenth anywhere and the schools were open!

  4. Keith Kazmark, Village of Ridgewood Manager, are you going to do something about your staff now?

  5. The Village Mayor and company go by their own rules.

  6. Keith Kazmark, Village Manager-
    Will you be issuing refunds?

  7. Slime. How much are we talking?

  8. No surprise. Residents have been fighting the Village to preserve, maintain and celebrate history. Doesn’t fit the Mayor and administration’s narrative. They are erasing everything.

  9. What a shame! A Village so rich in American and African American history and barely a note in Village records.

    1. So much African American history and yet so few (1.69%) African Americans.

    2. Wait what?
What African American heritage that our village has are you talking about?

  10. It should be very easy to refund monies to anyone who used an app or paid by credit card. A name is associated with those types of transactions. If you paid by cash, you’re shit out of luck.

    1. Pay for parking at your own risk.

      Thank you! Come again!

  11. Juneteenth in NJ is the third Friday of June. This year Friday 21st June.
