East Rutherford NJ, East Rutherford commuters faced significant delays on Monday morning after an NJ Transit train struck a car on the tracks. The incident occurred on the Pascack Valley Line at Union Avenue around 8:16 a.m., according to NJ Transit spokesperson John Chartier.
The train, which was not carrying passengers at the time, collided with the vehicle, but fortunately, there were no injuries reported. Both the train’s crew and the car’s driver, who remains unidentified, were unharmed.
As a result of the accident, train services are experiencing delays of up to 60 minutes in both directions. Commuters are advised to check the NJ Transit website for a list of alternative services and updates on the situation.
NJ Transit police are currently investigating the incident to determine the cause and any further details.
