Ho-Ho-Kus Funnyman Charles Pearson Launches “Mad Funny” in Former Green Room Space

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, Hoboken’s uptown nightlife is getting a major dose of laughter this weekend. Charles Pearson, a well-known Bergen County-based comedian and Ho-Ho-Kus resident, is officially trading the “Green Room” for the “Green Room” stage—literally.
In a full-circle moment, Pearson is opening Mad Funny, a professional comedy club located in the former 14th Street location of the popular cannabis product shop where he once performed.
A Club Built “By Comedians, For Comedians”
Pearson isn’t just opening a venue; he’s trying to disrupt the industry. Standing in his sleek, newly renovated space at 109 14th St., Pearson shared his ambitious vision for the club’s culture.
“We are going to have the biggest shows in America because we’re giving back to the comedians,” Pearson said.
To back that up, Mad Funny is introducing a high-stakes incentive: at the end of every show, the funniest performer of the night will be awarded a $500 cash prize, in addition to their standard performance fee.
