Ridgewood NJ, Planning your Independence Day weekend in the Village? Make sure you don’t get left holding the bag—literally!

In observance of the July 4th holiday, all Ridgewood Village offices and departments (except emergency services) will be closed on Friday, July 3. This closure brings major shifts to local services, including the closure of the Recycling Center and a complete pause on garbage and recycling collection for the holiday.

To help you stay ahead of the holiday rush, the Village has adjusted its schedules for the week of June 29. Bookmark this guide to keep your week running smoothly!

📍 Recycling Center Holiday Hours

Need to drop off materials before the weekend? Plan your trip early.

  • Monday, June 29 – Thursday, July 2: Open normal hours (8:00 am to 3:00 pm)

  • Friday, July 3 & Saturday, July 4: CLOSED

♻️ Revised Curbside Recycling & Yard Waste Schedule

Curbside collection is moving up to ensure everyone is serviced before the long weekend. Find your zone below:

  • Monday, 6/29: Area 1 Recycling & Area A Yard Waste

  • Tuesday, 6/30: Area 2 Recycling & Area B Yard Waste

  • Wednesday, 7/1: Area 3 Recycling & Area C Yard Waste

  • Thursday, 7/2: Area 4 Recycling & Area D Yard Waste

🚛 Rearyard Garbage Collection Changes

Rearyard pickup schedules are adjusted by side of town for the upcoming week:

  • West Side residents: Pickup on Monday, 6/29 and Wednesday, 7/1

  • East Side residents: Pickup on Tuesday, 6/30 and Thursday, 7/2

⚠️ Important Holiday Note: There will be no curbside bulk pickups anywhere in the Village next week. Hold onto your larger items until regular scheduling resumes!

  1. Come on I’m sure some of the Dpw will be working setting up barricades. Sweep the parade route, sweep the business section. Which that section should be swept every single day during the summer. The town can afford to pay for it. And I don’t want to see any bullshit with thumbs down,
