The incident occurred just before 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, at a liquor store in Palisades Park, New Jersey. According to Palisades Park Police Chief George Beck, 24-year-old Frederic Aryafar entered the establishment attempting to purchase alcohol before the situation quickly turned volatile.

From Dropped Bottles to Aggravated Assault

According to police accounts, the confrontation began after Aryafar mishandled and dropped beer bottles inside the store. Following the disruption, a store employee requested that Aryafar leave the premises.

Instead of exiting, Aryafar reportedly engaged in a heated argument with the worker. The verbal dispute turned physical when Aryafar allegedly struck the clerk directly in the face with a glass beer bottle.

Swift Police Arrest and Upcoming Court Date

Palisades Park Police Officers Salvatore Farnese and Chang Han responded swiftly to the emergency call. Upon arriving at the scene, Officer Farnese placed Aryafar under arrest without further incident.

Following the investigation, authorities processed Aryafar on several severe criminal counts, including:

• Aggravated Assault

• Possession of a Weapon

• Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose

While the current condition of the store clerk has not been fully detailed, the force of a glass bottle impact often results in severe lacerations and trauma. Following processing at police headquarters, Aryafar was released from custody. He is legally mandated to answer to the charges during an upcoming scheduled appearance on August 6 in Bergen County Superior Court.
