Maple Avenue Paving Begins Today: 4-Day Schedule, Parking Rules, and Detours in Ridgewood

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — County roadwork is officially underway in Bergen County. Tilcon, the paving contractor operating on behalf of the County of Bergen, announced that paving operations on Maple Avenue are scheduled to begin today, Tuesday, July 28, 2026.
The major infrastructure improvement project will span four days across key stretches of Maple Avenue, subject to weather conditions.
4-Day Maple Avenue Paving Schedule
Motorists should expect localized road closures, detours, and minor delays along the following daily routes:

Tuesday, July 28: East Franklin Turnpike (Ho-Ho-Kus border) to Bryden Place

Wednesday, July 29: Bryden Place to Linwood Avenue
-
Thursday, July 30: Linwood Avenue to East Ridgewood Avenue (in front of Village Hall)

Friday, July 31: East Ridgewood Avenue to Stillwell Place (Glen Rock border)
Village Hall, Library, and Veterans Field Access
All municipal services and community hubs will remain open during construction. Village Hall, the Ridgewood Public Library, Ridgewood Water, and Veterans Field will maintain normal operating hours throughout the paving process.
Parking Advisory for Thursday (Village Hall Paving): When paving takes place directly in front of Village Hall on Thursday, visitors are advised to park in the Graydon South Lot. You can access Village facilities, the library, and fields by:

Walking along Linwood Avenue, or
-
Taking the footbridge connecting the Graydon South Lot directly to Veterans Field.
Alternate Parking for Residents
Residents living along the affected sections of Maple Avenue who are impacted by the daily milling and paving work are permitted to park their vehicles on adjacent side streets during active work hours.
County and local officials thank residents and commuters for their patience as Bergen County completes this vital roadway maintenance project.
