the staff of the Ridgewood blog
Ridgewood NJ, The Ridgewood Police Department has been getting numerous inquiries from residents who were issued summonses for violating the Village leaf ordinance. The summonses were not issued by the Ridgewood Police Department they were issued by the Building Department’s Code Enforcement Officer. There are instructions on the back of the summons on how to contact the Municipal Court if you wish to plead not guilty. The direct number for the court is 201-670-5500 Ext 501.
“The most vocal comment heard from residents last year was on properties who did not comply with the schedule. Therefore enforcement will be vital to the Village’s success to improve this service. An enforcement agent will issue a summons to those that violate these guidelines”
My street clean a whistle — thanks Village workers, great job. Merry XMAS
Wonder how much the town made on the tickets?
Wonder if the money they made will go into the general fund to offset losses from the parking garage debacle.
Doesn’t really seem fair to fine people when the schedule has not been followed at all.
Coin Boy should be put on the leaf crew next year…
How much is the ticket? What is the violation? Plead Not Guilty! OPRA request the code officer’s credentials. Research the code. Make the town prove it’s case. Prove that it was really “My” leafs. Fight City Hall!
All we can say is the village is very lucky this year with the weather. what would of happen if it snowed. Other towns worked every weekend . NOT TO SMART. And don’t come back and say the village don’t have the money.
so true.
9:57, do you literally have nothing better to do with your time?
who cars it,s leaves. my god the crews got them up be for it snowed,
thanks guys.
Does anyone know if the Code Enforcement Officer is a new hire? She sits at a corner desk where a long time building dept. employee used to sit and that long time employee was moved to the middle of the room. That long time employee there was more knowledgeable, polite and friendly to talk to. This new (or I haven’t seen before) Code Enforcement Officer seems to be always yelling at people on phone about the violations and how they need to go to the court or pay the fines.
