the staff of the Ridgewood blog
Ridgewood NJ, so the Ridgewood blog has received some new updates as to the Ridgewood Elks situation and court battle.
The Elks had what is called a “grand forum hearing” which is heard by a judge who happens to also be an Elk in Tennessee. It was well attended by 40 members of the Ridgewood lodge. The feeling was that the hearing went well for the locals and now the trial transcript will be read by 5 Grand Forum Justices in November who will rule on the fate of the Ridgewood Elks at that time.
Its seems most of the “evidence” presented against the Ridgewood lodge was found to be inadmissible because is was procured after the fact by the NJ Grand Lodge from documents taken from the offices of the Ridgewood Lodge after the seizure of the Lodge . While some Grand Lodge representatives contradicted themselves during testimony, one flat out lied.
Nothing is settled yet ,but the Ridgewood lodge member’s could hold there head up high for putting on a good defense .
Before the Ridgewood lodge was seized it was revitalized and growing .Which takes us back one more time to the fact that this still appears to be nothing more than a land grab by the Grand Lodge of New Jersey .

Go Ridgewood Elks Go!
Ridgewood library wants to buy the building. Follow the money.
Does the liqueur licence dissolve if they lose their charter, or does it go up for bid? If the latter, it would be pretty easy to see who’s behind it. The next bar that opens in town will be your antagonist.
I wanted to join a couple years ago, but one of the questions on the application was “Do you believe in God?”. I don’t, and for some reason other than fear of retribution by a divine entity, I don’t like to lie. So I let it rest.
WHAT A SCAM THE ELKS ARE …..THESE THUGS ARE IN IT FOR THE MONEY GRAB …..YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN THE CROOKED MOB CREW THAT CAME THERE FROM THE STATE ELKS TO CLOSE THIS PLACE …..BUNCH OF LOW LIFE THAT HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO…..FOOD FOR THOUGHT….CLOSING THIS PLACE IS NOT SUCH A SMART THING TO DO……LIKE THE MEMBERS OF THIS PLACE ARE JUST GONNA GO TO ANOTHER LODGE ???? NO THEY WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ELKS AND THERE THEIVING WAYS …..THEY JUST LOST ABOUT 100 MEMBERS ….SOON THEY WILL ALL BE DEAD AND WITH NO NEW MEMBERS UNDER THE AGE OF 50 THEY WILL ALL SOON GO AWAY…..POMPTON LAKES,WAYNE, PARK RIDGE,THEY ARE ALL A BUCH OF DUST COVERED FAT FOLKS JUST WAITING TO DIE
Very, very sad, indeed. I hope they win their case and thrive. The library is big enough already! I grew up in Ridgewood and have the best memories of going there back in the day (80’s for me) and have always enjoyed going back for the numerous “eve of reunion” celebrations for classes and not just my own!
Must be the Ridgewood Board of Trustees post they want the property for their new performing arts center.
the lodge’s rep was obviously a skilled litigation attorney and she completely gutted witnesses during cross-examination
The Grand High Exulted Mystical Pubba of Elks says that regardless of the
outcome, you put up a good fight and a decent body of work. If you get
another life out of this, put an even bigger footprint on your mantra.
The Ridgewood Public Library has no business getting involved in a performing arts center. They are not the village Entertainment Center.
They are trying to build up their numbers by hosting book clubs, cooking clubs and other hobby clubs. What is the purpose of a library? They need to evolve to electronic information – if that even makes sense.
A performing Arts Center should use private funds. Create a nonprofit and give it a go. Government should not be in the entertainment business. And opera and ballet are entertainment.
